Android

Android is Google owned operating system specifically designed for smartphone users. Android was launched on the same day with the announcement of the Open Handset Alliance to encourage open source applications and operating systems for mobile phones.

Android is an open source operating system. So users can incorporate their changes into the original code after agreeing to certain terms and conditions unlike iOS from iPhone.  This has been a debatable topic because although it is cost effective, efficient and encourages creativity  but with the increasing  user experience, it becomes highly prone to security loopholes to be undetected.

This issue has been addressed through several updates of Android OS with the current Honeycomb version seeing an update in the near future.

Android provides almost all the features that iOS does; however, it lacks execution of Javabyte code and screenshot capture features. However, many third party Java based applications can overcome these defects quite easily.
